Breeding, mite drift & citizen science

May 12 General Meeting

Breeding, mite drift & citizen science

Posted on May 10, 2019 by Sandy Honigsberg

This month we welcome back Randy Oliver. For the past couple of years Randy has been working on breeding for mite resistant bees. He'll explain the process, what's involved and update us on his current progress. Last fall, Randy also conducted research on mite drift. He'll share what he's learned so far and explain his current citizen science mite drift quantification project. You won't want to miss out on this very timely, interesting presentation.

We’ll also be holding our raffle. All re-gifted, gently used or plant donations are greatly appreciated. Receive a free raffle ticket for every donated item you bring. Our club store will also be open. For sale are hats, tee-shirts, tote bags, mite wash cups and pollen patties.

After the meeting many members head to Placerville Brewing Company for dinner and more bee conversation. Join us there!

See everyone at the meeting!

Are you ready?
