honey extractor
Honey extraction workshop & garden tour

Saturday, May 14    |   $10 each
Two start times: 10:00 & 11:30 am

Club members are invited to visit Steve and Monika Baker for a hands-on honey extraction demonstration on Saturday, May 14. We'll begin with raw frames of honey (already removed from the hives), an inspection to determine the content and quality of the individual frames, how to remove and save the wax capping’s and wax honeycomb, instructions on how to process the wax, spin the honey, the filter process and bottling. You’ll also have an opportunity to try your hand at removing the cappings yourself (gloves provided) and YES, you get to sample the honey!

While the honey is extracting, you are welcome and encouraged to walk through their gardens and view many plants that Monika specifically planted for their bees.

We only have room for 40 members. The email to sign up will go out soon.

Hungry Bees?

It's a good idea to have pollen patties on hand, so you have them when necessary. The club has pollen patties for sale, $3 each. Placerville area, contact John Havicon at 916.996.8371, or for the Cameron Park area, contact Bernie Ruiz at 916.719.6708.

Join us at our next meeting, Sunday, May 8th at the Cameron Park Community Center. See you there!
