New meeting day

Big Change for 2019

New meeting day

Posted on December 4, 2018

Our regular meeting day has been moved to the second Sunday of the month. This was by far the most popular choice from our survey of club members. The earlier day now allows us to hold meetings all 12 months of the year.

The survey also provided board members with a range of topics that members were most interested in. This information has been very useful as we select topics and find speakers for the upcoming year. Thanks to the members who participated in the survey!

Our board members were busy with lots of club business last year.

  • We are now a nonprofit organization
  • We secured liability insurance
  • We revamped our Beekeeping 101 class
  • We now have a Facebook page and group
  • We added Sign-up Genius for events and volunteering
  • We relocated our storage unit to Placerville
  • We surveyed club members for feedback, and
  • We have a new website

After taking care of lots of club housekeeping, board members are looking forward to more “bee” related activities in the months to come.

2019 Kickoff Meeting

Join us for our first gathering of the year. We’ve arranged a two-part presentation: Bee Nutrition | New Website

We welcome Neil Hannigan from Mann Lake who will be speaking to us on the nutritional needs of bees. And if supplementing, what products are available, their benefits and differences.

We're also excited to demonstrate our new website. Learn how to join or renew your membership online, sign up for classes and the swarm hotline and order bees.

We'll also be holding our raffle. All re-gifted, gently used or plant donations are greatly appreciated. Get one raffle ticket for every item you bring.

After the meeting many members head to Placerville Brewing Company for dinner and more bee conversation.

Happy New Year! See you at the meeting.
