We're back and Zooming! What's next? Varroa Wars!

Posted on June 11, 2020

Join us this Sunday as club member Jim Guilliams reviews battle plans against bee-enemy #1: Varroa destructor! Learn about the mite's life cycle, tools to monitor mite loads and ways to effectively attack and persevere over this shifty mite. We'll also be hosting a question and answer session after Jim's presentation.

Sunday's meeting will be held via Zoom. To join the meeting simply click on the link below. A special thank you to Sivia Goldberg Van Gundy for our Zoom access!

Need pollen patties? The club currently has patties for sale, $3 each. For those in the Placerville area, contact John Havicon at 916.996.8371, or for the Cameron Park area, contact Bernie Ruiz at 916.719.6708.

Looking forward to July, the board has planned a Honey Extraction Workshop. Steve and Monika Baker have graciously offered to host and demonstrate all there is to know about extracting honey. To keep our groups small, we'll be offering several time slots. Look for an email in July to sign up.

We will soon be holding elections for the 2020-2021 board of directors. If you have any interest in getting more involved with the club, consider serving on the board. Board meetings last two hours and are held once a month. Board members take care of the club's nonprofit business as well as planning events and activities for the year. If you're interested, please contact president John Havicon.

Looking forward to "seeing" everyone this Sunday.
Bee Well!
