About Us

The El Dorado Backyard Beekeepers were originally established in 2011 to promote beekeeping in El Dorado County. In 2017 the club changed its name to El Dorado Beekeepers and in 2018, became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. See our bylaws here

The club is run by an 8-member board of directors. Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Club members are welcome to attend these meetings. For location email: beekeeper@eldoradobeekeepers.org.

Membership meetings are held the second Sunday of the month from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, and are open to the public. Meetings include a speaker, a question and answer session and any club business and announcements. We also hold a raffle and sell shirts, hats, bags, mite-wash cups and pollen patties. Members are welcome to come early and chat with other beekeepers before the meeting.

The club has extractors and various accessories available for member use. To borrow, contact our equipment managers Sandra Myron or Terry Valdez at equipment@eldoradobeekeepers.org.
